Zuplaw (pronounced Zoop- law) began in 2013 in Seaside, Oregon, where we continue to serve our clients today. Our focus is in real estate matters: in the course of our practice, we often represent both landlords and commercial tenants in the negotiation of long-term office, retail and industrial leases, as well as in issues that arise during residential and commercial tenancy disputes. We also handle real estate acquisitions and dispositions; financing and leasing issues; management and entity formation; subdivision, land use, and planning approvals; and the coordination and oversight of numerous litigation matters that pertain to various land use, contract, and property disputes. We similarly assist businesses seeking to effectively manage their real estate holdings and related corporate legal issues.

Over the years, we have represented a variety of property owners and business owners who are both local to the northern Oregon Coast and from across the United States. Testimonials

I highly recommend Christian Zupancic professional services. I hired him during a time of unexpected crisis and found him very knowledgeable, attentive, efficient and professional. His expert handling of my case yielded optimal results for me. In my opinion, he is a “Gold Star” attorney!  -Keryn

Christian was referred to us by a realtor when we were in the process of purchasing an investment property. He is easy to work with right off of the bat, with my little to none knowledge to real estate law, he really made the process at ease and clear to understand. What I also really like is how efficient he is, he is timely and is aware of client’s budget. Very prompt at returning calls, emails. Highly recommended. I am very glad and happy that Christian represented us. We look forward to working with him again in the future. –Tracy

My wife and I enjoyed working with Christian. He is a good listener, considered our needs and has a pleasant and professional manner. Negotiation was required during our case and he never became rattled or impatient during the process. He was always willing to consider and implement our proposals, pointing out legal pitfalls etc. We always felt like we had a real ally helping us along through the legal aspects. He is fair and honest.
Thank You Christian. -Doug

FAQs

Do you have flexible payment structures?

Absolutely. While our typical fee structure is “by the hour,” in many instances it can be appropriate to utilize a “flat” fee, a contingent fee, or some other arrangement. Your payment plan will usually depend on the issues surrounding your case. However, we will always strive to be as communicative as possible regarding your fee structure so that you have a full understanding of your potential legal costs. And, as always, we encourage you to ask questions about the services we provide.

What type of contracts do you deal with?

We can assist you with many types of contracts, such as leases, purchase agreements, vendor agreements, independent contractor arrangements, licensing, and much more. Today, it seems that contracts are a part of each person’s and every business’s daily existence—not only do you deserve a strong negotiator on your side, but you also need an understanding of what you’re agreeing to. This is not of your reach! We can help you through the process, and what’s more, explain each step in plain English.

Why do I need a lawyer to help me with my LLC / C corp. / S corp. Formation? Can’t I just do it by myself?

Yes, you can do it by yourself! However, there are several advantages to retaining a lawyer. Depending on your particular situation, one entity type may offer better tax savings over the other, or may even offer better opportunities for expansion or transition. Most importantly, a lawyer can help you understand how to conduct your business in a way that helps to avoid “piercing the veil” actions–  i.e., lawsuits that disregard your LLC/ corporation and hold you personally liable (despite all your efforts to legally protect yourself!). Consulting an attorney can help you to possibly save countless dollars associated with unnecessary liability, taxes, and other avoidable costs.

Will you keep me updated and informed about my case?

Yes. Our firm’s policy is to communicate with the client early and often… we may even contact you when nothing is “happening” with regards to your case simply so that you stay updated as to its progress. As always, you are free to call or visit. And, if at any time we are unavailable to speak with you, we will return your call promptly. Your understanding of your own case is of paramount importance.
